Rusty #339
July 1, 2010 Update:
Rusty is OK with cats, he likes to
chase them, but he
won't hurt them. He is crate
trained. Loves to go on walks and
runs. Very strong, must have
harness. Since he was tied to a
tree, a choker is not appropriate
for this dog. Great watch dog. The
only time he barks is when he is
alerting the humans of dogs/people
outside of his home. Plays by
himself with toys. Hasn't met a
stranger. Very gentle with
treats/food.
From Rusty, "I hope you don't mind a
furry lump on your couch/chair.
I love to curl up on furniture. It
is so nice to be an INSIDE dog."

Rusty is a big boy – around
55 pounds of muscle! He is
not all Sheltie, as you can
see, but needed to be
rescued so badly that we let
him come to us. He is five
years old and recently had
his very first bath and
groom. Needless to say, he
looks and smells a
whole lot better!
Rusty is
house-trained, can
use a dog-door and
knows a few basic
commands. He has
discovered toys and
loves to play
fetch. He needs a
home with a fenced
yard so he can run –
when he is loose, he
will chase birds,
squirrels, cars . .
. you name it. He
is not real good
with cats because he
plays a little
rougher than they
like. But he is
great with people
and other dogs. He
rides beautifully in
the car and does not
need to be crated.
And the main way we
know he is not “all
Sheltie”? He hardly
ever barks!
This is a great dog
who would be a
wonderful companion
for kids and adults
alike. Won’t you
consider him for
your next
fur-buddy?
