Sheltie Rescue came into my life at just the right time.  I was living in a turbulent household and I was heartworm positive.   I am afraid if I had stay with my old family I would have died from heartworm and I am only four years old.  I am so thankful Sheltie Rescue took me in.  John and Rhonda were looking for another Sheltie since their beloved Tanner died.  They wanted a playmate for Dewey, their tri color Sheltie.  They met me while I was still at the vet having treatment.  I think they liked me from the beginning.   My foster mom and dad treated me like a prince and took such good care of me.  When I left to go live with John and Rhonda, they were sad but also happy that I would have such a wonderful family to call my own.  I have a brand new house to live in.  I love the time with my dad and riding in his truck around our farm.  Oh, I love my new life!!!!

Rocky was in sad shape when he came to Sheltie Rescue.  He was such a sweet boy but suffered from Heartworm, badly infected mouth, kennel cough and was malnourished.  With many weeks of love and good care from his foster parents he was ready to be adopted.  John and Nancy just felt something when they saw his picture.  They were thrilled to be able to adopt him and give him the life he so much deserved.  He settled in at their home and their daughter, Mandy, bonded with him.  With much sadness Rocky died one month after being adopted.  We are all very sad but we were all happy he was able to know human kindness and love with the time he was in rescue and lived with Nancy, John and Mandy.  Farewell Rocky....

I love my new mom.  When she met me at Christmas time after I was rescued, she took me home to be her foster dog but I think deep down she wanted to adopt me from day one.  I felt so secure being by her.  She just needed to convince my new dad.  I have 1 sister and 3 brothers.  Of course they are all Shelties.   I had a pretty rough start in life but not now!!!  I have lots of love and plenty to eat.  How could anyone resist my beautiful blue eyes.  I can melt any heart with them.  My new mom calls me Sterling Silver.  Thanks Sheltie Rescue for saving me....

Indianapolis is a long way from the streets of St. Louis but boy am I glad the Sheltie Rescue people came to get me.  I had very little fur left when coming to rescue.  After receiving all my vet care and a good diet, I began to blossom.  My personality was always gentle and kind.  Laura came to see the Shelties available for adoption.  She had her heart set on a small female.  Guess what?   I am a big Sheltie male and she fell in love immediately.  I sort of won her over.  She can't imagine her life without me now.  Life if good for this street kid.  Thanks everyone for finding me the perfect mom.  I feel blessed!!!

When my owner died, I thought my world would never be the same.  I went to live with a friend but that did not work so she called Sheltie Rescue.  My foster mom took such good care of me.  You see I had skin problems and lots of itching.  When Jo and Denis decided to adopt, they wanted to meet me.  Even though I still had my skin problems they wanted me.  I love my new family and I think the feeling is mutual.  I am home for good now.  I love to go when the car goes.  I was a therapy dog with my former owner and my new mom wants to continue letting me brighten the days of the sick and elderly.   I am a happy Sheltie boy!
