When my owner turned me into the Humane Society, the nice lady that works there called Sheltie Rescue.   I breathed a sigh of relief when they said they would take me.  You see I am a senior boy around 10 years old.  Most families coming to rescue overlook the older ones for a young Sheltie.  Donna's daughter had adopted a Sheltie and told her mom about me.  When the rescue lady and I went to visit Donna, I was on my best behavior and felt right at home.  She then wanted to adopt me.  I am a little heavy but my new mom, Donna, and I are taking walks.  I have the biggest back yard that I love and can run and play.  Also, two Shelties come to visit me that are part of the family.  I am adjusting to my new home.  You see it is just mom and me so we are keeping each other company.  Sheltie Rescue thanks for finding me my new mom.

For a skinny little girl that was dumped at the Humane Society life has sure taken a turn for the better.  I now share a my new home with a Sheltie brother, Prince.  We are still trying to see who can run the show.  Prince has been the top dog for many years and I am testing him to see if I can be the top dog.  We should probably just forget trying this and love the fact that mom and dad love both of us.  My sister Lola also found a perfect home.  I am still not 2 years old so I love to run and get into mischief as young dogs do.  I am a love bug and get to sleep with mom and dad.  I was very thin when I came to rescue but have gained a few pounds and feel so much better.  I know my parents love me but it has not been easy for Prince to adjust to having me in the home.  I hope one of these days we can be best buddies.  Thanks Sheltie Rescue for saving my life and my sister's life.

Sheltie Rescue found me the perfect home.  I was an only dog but my owner had health issues and could not keep me.  They tried to keep me and kenneled me for over a month but out love for me they gave me to Sheltie Rescue.  When Connie and Jerry met me, they took me home on a trial visit.  At first I got into a little trouble by chewing a shoe and a slipper.  I just wasn't sure how to behave as I was afraid I would be moved again.  I am still overweight but with walks everyday with my mom, I should slim down.  I share my new home with a cat and we are learning to get along.  Connie told Sheltie Rescue that I am a keeper!!  I am so happy to know I won't have to move again.  I have a big beautiful yard and great house to call my own.

My foster mom took me to visit another rescue lady at work.  You see they allow dogs at her work.  Tari, that is my new mom, watched me for a few minutes when my foster mom went to visit another employee.  Well, I knew how to win her heart.  I did a few "roll over and rum my belly tricks", took treats gently from her hand and wanted her to love on me.  She fell in love with me.  You see she has many rescued dogs at her house and she thought I looked exactly like Smokey Joe.  She loves to let me snuggle on her lap and also sleep with her and few other furkids.  I am now Misca.  I was named after a wolf.  Pretty cool, don't you think?  I have a big fenced yard and so many furkids to run with.  Boy, life is so much better in IN.  Thanks Sheltie Rescue for rescuing me even if I am not all Sheltie.  Life is good!!

Thanks Sheltie Rescue for finding me the best mom in the world.  She had not had a dog for several years and felt she was ready to welcome a Sheltie into her home and boy was I lucky to be the one.  When she visited me at my foster mom's, I think she fell in love with me immediately.  I tried my best to have her like me.  It worked!!  I now live in the country and have a very large yard so I can run and play.  I am giving her so many Sheltie kisses.  I don't let her out of my sight.  We were made for each other.  It was so hard to leave my first owner but she was not healthy enough to care for me.  I had a long ride from Ohio to my foster home in Lafayette.  Becky, my new mom, says I am her housemate and companion.  I love the sound of that and will do my best to maker he happy and protect her.  Thanks Sheltie Rescue and Michele, my foster mom, for introducing me to Becky.  I hope we have many years together and also with my cat siblings.  I forgot, my mom is a teacher and I have even been to school with her over the weekend.  What fun for me.  Pinch me as I am so happy!
