Being a stray is not much fun but Sheltie Rescue picked me up and my life changed for the better.  I had heartworm so thanks Sheltie Rescue for saving me or the heartworms would have taken my life.  When Ken and Connie thought about adding another Sheltie to their family, they came to meet me with their other Sheltie, Cody.  Well, guess what?  They took me home to Michigan.  I have a big back yard where my mom plays ball with me and she takes me on a daily walk.   I am a little more active than they thought but that will keep them young!!  There are 2 more Shelties that will be part of my family.  They belong to their daughter.  One of them is also a rescued Sheltie.  I almost forgot.  I am now called Chance.  I like my new name!

For such a young girl, I have moved around a lot in my short life and also while in rescue.  I had a new home for a few days but I wasn't sure about so many kids.  They sort of scared me but now, wow, I love my new home.  I have a mom and dad and 5 dogs to call my own.  I am just over 1 year old and love to play as most pups do.  I have a doggie door so I can check out the back yard whenever I want.   My new mom, Paula, saw my picture on the Sheltie Rescue webpage and fell in love with my cute face.  She was not disappointed when she met me.  I am now a big city girl and know I am safe and will be loved forever.  Mom and dad didn't care that I was not all Sheltie.   Thanks Sheltie Rescue for saving my life and finding me the perfect home.

I love my new life and thanks to Sheltie Rescue I am alive.  I came to rescue with heartworm.  After 3 months with my foster family (you see I needed to get healthy) I was adopted by Linda.  I now share my home with my new best buddy Bindi a collie mix.  We are both very young and we play and play.  Tug a war is one of our favorite games. We keep our mom on her toes.  She decided to change my name to Brady!  I like my new name.   Bindi and I try to get as close as possible to our mom when she is on the sofa.  I am a little guy at 16 pounds.  I came to rescue weighing only 10 pounds.  I think my new life agrees with me.  I know I have made my mom very happy but she has made me even more happy.  I will have a wonderful life and we even have a lake home.  What could be better for rescued Sheltie!!!

From being a stray found on July 4 to living a good life in downtown Chicago, I have come a long way.  When Frances (that is my new mom) lost her beloved Bailey very unexpectedly, she felt so lost and missed the love a Sheltie has to give.  She met me and we were off to Chicago.  Wow, is this a different place.  So many cars and buses to bark at.  Mom is working with me on that but how can I help but want to bark as they drive by.  I am enrolled in school.  I think it is called obedience and when I pass I will be going to agility so mom and I can have some fun together.   First day in my new home I made up to the cat, found the sofa quite comfortable and mom's bed to be a safe place for me at night.   My teacher thinks I am stunning and enthusiastic.  Yes I am!!!  Mom changed my name to an Irish name.  I am now Reilly.  I guess I am now the official Sheltie Rescue Ambassador in Chicago area.  Life could not be better.

My sister Mona and I came to rescue in pretty sad shape.  We needed a lot of medical care.  Sheltie Rescue and our foster mom took such good care of us.  It was decided Mona and I would be ok in separate homes.  I went to a Pet Fair and was told a special family was coming to meet me.  Wow!  I think it was love at first sight for them and for me.  Peggy my new mom was in tears knowing she could take me home.  I love my new family and must say I am the center of attention around here.   My mom and dad think I am an angel in a fur coat and I have totally stolen their hearts.  I have grandkids that come to play with me.  I get to take walks everyday.   I even get to sleep on the bed with my parents.   This is a long way from being taken to a Humane Society just wishing someone would love both my sister and me.   I will have such a good life with Peggy and Lowell and more love than I ever imagined.   Thanks Sheltie Rescue!  I almost forgot I am now called Lady.
