Summer #134

Sunday, February 5, 2006

There never was a happier little Sheltie than Summer.   She was found as a stray and given to this ladies parents.  They loved her but feared for her safety as she wanted to chase their horses.  When Nan and Greg Lewis met Summer, they knew this 1 year old, 18 pound bundle of energy was the dog for them and their two young daughters.  She now shares their beautiful home with her new best friend a rescued collie.  Running and chasing each other has become a daily occasion.   Nan says Summer has brought them so much enjoyment and they all love her so much.   They can't imagine their home without her.  A happy ending for a stray Sheltie!

Kobe #136

Thursday, February 16, 2006

How could anyone resist this 10 pound Sheltie Boy.  His name is Kobe.  After his owner gave him to his mother, he was then given to rescue.  His foster mom and dad fell in love from the minute he came to stay with them.  Lori and Troy decided they couldn't let him go.  He has become Lori's lap dog.  He shares his home with 3 rescued Sheltie brothers.  What fun 4 boys have playing and running through the house.  He loves his fenced yard.  Lori and Troy love all their adopted "boys".  Kobe may be the smallest but he can keep up with the big boys.

Star #137

My name is Star and when my owner died, I was so lonely.  I had been a star in her life.  The rescue ladies took me to meet Mary Jane and Jim.  I made myself right at home and they thought I was pretty cute.  I got to stay!!!  Now I am feeling very special again.  Kathy also lives here and I like her.  I am 8 but still active.  If Mary Jane or Jim don't pet me, I just nudge their hand and get the pets and pats I love.  I think I will be spoiled.  Jim and Mary Jane had another Sheltie that was also a rescue girl but missed her so much after she passed away.  They called rescue and within days I was able to meet them.  Maybe now I will be a "star" with them.  Thanks Sheltie Rescue for finding me a wonderful home.

Freckles #132

Saturday, February 25, 2006

Freckles arrived in rescue after many moves and several long car rides.  This was a lot for a year old Sheltie but he settled into his foster home quickly.  He loved his foster family and their four kids, 2 dogs and birds.  He is shy of certain men but when Karla and Tony drove from Michigan to meet Freckles, it was a match.  He went to Tony and Karla for petting and affection.  He now shares his home with his Sheltie brother Dakota.  He loves to run, jump and play in his big fenced yard.   They call him a "keeper" and feel lucky to have him part of their family.  A happy ending for this beautiful, young boy and his grandparents love him too!

Taylor  #139

Monday, March 13, 2006

Taylor was such a scared little boy when he came to rescue.  Being only 13 pounds he was most happy on his foster dad's lap.  He relaxed after a few days in rescue.  His previous owner was afraid someone was mistreating Taylor so decide giving him to rescue was best for him.  Kelly and Chris had been waiting for a Sheltie for several months.  When they met him, they knew he was the one.  They were so excited that was all they talked about before making his adoption official.  Taylor will now be an only dog and get all the attention and love this little guy deserves.  Kelly says he is awesome and the perfect dog.  He will always feel safe with his new mom and dad.  Taylor brings a big smile to his new mom.
