Luna #56

I am the first New Year Adoption for 2006.  I am Luna and I am not new to this thing called rescue.  I was left outside to live under a porch and become flea infested.  I was adopted about 1 1/2 years ago but when that family had to move they could not take me.  Now I have the best new mom and her name is Jo.  I love her already.  I am sharing my new home with another rescued Sheltie.  We are slowly becoming friends.  I am 9 but still very playful and weigh 16 pounds.  I have met many new friends since going home with Jo.  I am now going for walks with her friends and 7 other dogs.  I get to go to Aunt Mary Jane's when mom goes on vacations...  Life is good for me this new year.

Leslie #132

I am Leslie and I am very shy.  I have moved many times in my short life.  I am now home forever.  Greg and Sherry came to meet me and wanted me to be their own.  I now know that I am loved the way a Sheltie should be.  My foster parents were so good to me and help me overcome some of my shyness.  I am about 1 year old and have a beautiful tri colored coat.  I am 33 pounds and 16 inches.   Greg and Sherry know I need lots of reassurance, love, understanding and time to trust.  I am sharing my new home with a 3 year old Sheltie.  I do love to gather toys.  I didn't have many toys before.  I am a happy girl.  I have a new mom and dad and a Sheltie buddy.

Jai # 130

Jai came to rescue in need of extensive medical care.  He was heartworm positive and needed treatment, had a dislocated hip which needed surgery, needed all shots and needed to be neutered.  His previous family could not give him medical care.  After 2 months in rescue he was ready to go.  His surgery was more extensive than thought.  He also had a broken leg from his injury that dislocated his hip.  When Jim and Pat saw his picture they wanted to meet him.  What a perfect family for him and his recovery.  Jai a small boy weighing only 12 pounds.  Jim and Pat plan to let him do a lot of recovery on their laps and getting all the love and attention he deserves.   Pat is nurse so little Jai will have his own nurse.  His foster mom and dad were sorry to see him go but know he will be loved and well cared for.  Have a good life little Jai!

Sonny #128

I am Sonny and I was 1 year old on January 6 and was adopted on January 7.  What better birthday present for me.  I love my new family.  I have two boys, Noah and Elijah, to run, play with and chase.  My original family had kids but no one wanted to spend time with me.  I was so lonely and wanted to run.  After coming to rescue I went to the best foster home.  I had 2 girls and another Sheltie to keep me company.  I miss them but love my new family.  Jon and Marci decided to adopt a Sheltie after they lost their beloved Sheltie, Chloe.   It seems like I have always lived here.  I am home for good.

Jake #135

Compared to most rescued Shelties, Jake caused quite a storm of applications.  He is such a sweet boy and about 1 1/2 years old.  When Barb and Phil drove a long distance to meet him they knew he was the Sheltie for them.   He had been a stray and a vet placed him with an older lady.  He was just too young for her.  Now he has a family that has the time for him and the love he deserves.  His foster parents thought he was one of the best and oh so handsome and smart.   Who could resist those tipped ears and his gentle way.
