Blue

Sunday, May 30, 2005

When Blue, a beautiful 2 year old Sable Merle, was brought to rescue, Lori rode along with his soon to be foster mom.  After  just a day, Lori thought she might like to foster Blue and try him with her two shelties.  Within a few days and a weekend at the lake, Lori and Troy decided Blue had a home forever.  He now shares his home with Lucky and Chance.  He and his sheltie brothers enjoy play time together.   Blue, Lucky and Chance make a pretty sight when going on walks.   Sheltie Rescue is happy for these three sheltie boys....a new home with a fenced yard and a cottage at the lake!!!!

Shilo

Tuesday, June 21, 2005

Shilo was a stray left at the Post Office.  Don and Marilyn offered to foster him.  He is a well behaved Sheltie and only jumps on furniture when invited.  He got along well with the 2 Shelties in his foster home.  Each time Shilo went on a home visit with a potential family looking to adopt, Don and Marilyn became nervous.  I guess they were worried someone would want to adopt him.  After a couple home visits they decided they could not let him go and adopted him.  Don is a Post Office employee so it seemed that Shilo was meant to be a part of their family since he was found at the Post Office.  He loves playing with his Sheltie brother and sister.  He became an official family member when he took a plunge into the pool.

Paws

Monday, June 27, 2005

Paws was given up by his original owners as they had a monkey and Paws and the monkey could not get along.   He was loved and will be missed by his foster mom and dad and their four kids.  He learned to play and loved snuggling up in the evening to watch TV.   He loves riding in the car. When Jim and Evelyn lost their beloved sheltie boy after 11 years, they knew they wanted another sheltie to share their home.  After spending time with Paws at his foster home they decided to adopt him.  He made up to Jim and was taking treats from his hand in no time.  Paws will be Jim's special companion and travel with him.   Who could resist those beautiful eyes....

Westley

Wednesday, July 6, 2005

Westley came to rescue needing to gain confidence and help with socialization.  Denise was looking for a sheltie to call her own.  She had grownup with shelties.  Westley needing a home with someone to devote lots of time with him seemed the perfect dog for Denise.  He goes to "Doggie Daycare" at his cousins while Denise works.  There he has 2 Shelties to play with.  He gets very excited in the mornings knowing he is going to Daycare.  His extended family is helping him to trust and love.  Denise is so glad she found Westley and can't imagine life without him.

Cooper

Thursday, July 7, 2005

Cooper came to Sheltie Rescue from St. Louis area.  He is such an unusual blue merle.  He is a 2 year old happy boy, loves to please and very eager to learn.  When Bill wanted a younger dog to go through his training to be an obedience trainer, he felt Cooper was just the one.  Cooper visited with Bill, Valerie and their dog and cat.  He melted their hearts.  Reports from Bill say Cooper now called Laddie has brought them lots of enjoyment and is very happy in his new home.
