Mikie

Sunday, December 12, 2004

Mikie wanted his own family so he could celebrate his birthday with them.  Well, he got his birthday wish.  Mikie will be 5 on December 17.  Now he can celebrate with his Mom, Jeri, and his sheltie sister, Lady.  Sheltie Rescue is so happy for Mikie.  His mom loves her new furkid.  What better way to spend the holidays than with his new family.  His previous owner died so sheltie rescue became his home.  Jeri took him as a foster dog.  She knew almost immediately she wanted him to be hers forever.  We are all happy for Mikie and his new family.

Ali

Ali was rescued from a puppy mill.  She quickly learned how to be loved and give love.  She never stopped wagging her tail.  She now shares her home with another rescued sheltie named Kessler and one cat.  She has two little boys to play with and parents that are delighted with her.  They enjoy watching her run and play in the snow and enjoy the times she snuggles with them.   She will celebrate her second birthday with the new family that loves her so much.

P.D.

Friday, December 17, 2004

P.D. came to rescue with skin problems, heartworm and fur that was a matted mess.  With medication, treatments and time he improved and won the hearts of his foster parents.  When he went for a home visit with his foster mom, he won the hearts of his new family.  He ran and played, jumped on their laps and was happy to be there especially since he was the only dog.  It was a done deal and they wanted him when he was ready to go.  He now has two girls and his new parents to love him.   P.D. deserves a family that cares and he has that now.  They didn't even mind that his little nose will probably be scarred permanently with sores left untreated by his previous owners.  They love him, all 13 pounds!!!

Bud

Bud a.k.a Buddy is a "biggie" sheltie but when Warren met Buddy size didn't matter to him.  He loved all 43 pounds!  His previous owners were gone all the time so he was lonely.  Now Buddy has Warren and they are together all the time.  They share the same bed!   Buddy will get his wish to have a new family that will help him celebrate his 5th birthday in February.   We understand that Buddy is very friendly and smiles all the time.  Buddy doesn't let Warren out of his sight for more than two seconds.

Jeff

Sunday, December 19, 2004

When the Atkinson's and their grandkids met Jeff, they new he was the one.   He had been a stray and in need  of medical care.  He had so many fleas his skin was infected.  Despite his physical condition, he loved everyone and never stopped wagging is tail.  He didn't know what a stranger was.  He is now on medication for low thyroid and his skin is healed from all the fleas.  He is such a happy little sheltie standing only 13 inches.  He will never be without someone to love and play with him.   He is so cute you just want to pick him up and hug him.  He will be the center of attention at his new home.
