Scooby

Wednesday, June 30, 2004

My name is Scooby and I like this group called Sheltie Rescue.  I came from a "farm" in KY but all they had were lots of dogs.  I thrived with the attention and love from my foster mom.  She found me quite amusing and playful, but that is to be expected from a 7 month old!.  I felt so much better when I was groomed and given medicine for all the worms I had.  I met my new mom, Marge, on the day she adopted my sister, Sheba.  She is collie/sheltie mix.  She wanted me to join her family.  So a week later I was adopted.   I also am sharing my new home with another sheltie.  I am the sable and white little guy in the picture.   Living in a Chicago suburb is a long way from the hills of KY but I like my new home.

Zena

Wednesday, July 7, 2004

My name is Zena and my brother's name is Rocky.  We lived on a farm and were left to run with the livestock.  Both of our coats had to be shaved.  We look like big puppies.  We now have a new family with four kids, another dog and several cats.  They think we are beautiful even without hair.  When Crystal and the kids met me they were told about my brother, Rocky.  They went to meet him and decided they had enough room and lots of love for both of us.  We are so lucky to be together in our new home.  We now get all the love and attention we deserve.

Sheila

Tuesday August 10, 2004

Sheila has so much love to give and is so loyal, it is hard to think of her as coming from a puppy mill.  Her tail has not stopped wagging since she went to her forever home, after being successfully treated for heartworm.  She stays at home with Toni, while Toni's son Robert works.  She follows Toni everywhere and keeps her company during the day.  Then she eagerly awaits for Robert so she can go outside and romp.  She loves the attention and gives it right back to her new family.  What a happy ending for such a special girl.

Jackson

Thursday, August 12, 2004

Jackson is a 6 year old heavy coated sheltie boy.  His foster mom and dad fell in love with him almost from the first day he was in foster care.  They describe him as a perfect sheltie and pretty as a calendar picture.  It didn't take long for them to decide that he was a "keeper".  He now shares their home with 4 other shelties and might even be their favorite.   Jackson is happy to be part of his new family.

Cher

Saturday, September 4, 2004

Cher was a stray but now she has a family to call her own.  After a short time in foster care we knew she loved kids.  Cher doesn't know a stranger and wags her tail all the time.  When Bob and Susan decided to add a dog to their family, they called Sheltie Rescue.  Cher has three girls in her new family that give her all the love and attention she deserves.  A new home in Indianapolis is a long way from the streets of St. Louis.  What could be better for this sheltie girl??
