Jo Jo

Sunday, May 9, 2004

JoJo was given to rescue as his family couldn't take him when they moved.  He is a young boy with lots of energy.  His new parents adopted him on Mother's Day.  What could be better!  He will share his home with a rescued Sheltie named Chief and a rescued Border Collie name Ginger.  He is so happy to have a big back yard and two other dogs to play with.  Since he has been treated for worms, his new parents hope to get some weight on him and get his coat as shiny as his siblings.  He loves attention and will get plenty in his new home.  He will always have a buddy to run with.

Bailey

Tuesday, May 18, 2004

Bailey came into rescue after spending 6 months with a lady that worked at the Humane Society as he was going to be put down since he was 8-9 years old and overweight.  She felt she couldn't take care of him so she called Sheltie Rescue.  That was the best thing that could happen for Bailey.  His foster mom is one of the best!  She opened her home and her heart to him.  She felt he was a special guy and decided to adopt him.  His biggest problem was his weight.  She worked with a  special diet and made sure he exercised daily.  In 4 months he has lost over 7 pounds.   He is sharing his new home with other shelties and cats.  He loves to go anywhere he can because that means more attention for him.  He loves visiting all the people at the retirement center.  He never gets tired of being fussed over and loved on.   Bailey looks forward to everyday he has with his new mom.   We all wish him much success on his diet.  Bailey loves his new mom, Ellen.

Little Princess / Cuddles

Sunday, May 23, 2004

My name was Princess but my new mom, Mary Jane, liked that most people just want to cuddle me.  So my new name is Cuddles.  I was always kept in a room by myself for 9 years.  I didn't know what to think when the world opened up to me when I was given to Sheltie Rescue.   My behavior can be confusing at times but my new mom finds me special and loves me so much.  There are still many things that scare me but my mom thinks I am worth all the excitement.   At  9 pounds and 11 inches tall how could anyone resist loving me.  I am sharing my new home with several other rescue kids.  My new mom's words. I am madly in love with Cuddles!!!

Sierra

Saturday,  June 5, 2004

Sierra was given to rescue when her owners moved where they didn't have a fence and they didn't want Sierra in the house.  She was either in the yard or kept in a laundry room when it was cold.  She was so eager to please while in foster care.  She is now the only dog of Steve and Jessica.  She lives in the country with lots of room to run and play.  She has been on a diet while in foster care, shedding several pounds.  Her new parents are going to continue monitoring her food.  She now has all the love and attention every sheltie deserves.  She will no longer be starved for attention.  Sierra is getting lots of exercise and LOVE.

Sparky

Sunday, June 6, 2004

Sparky was given to the Humane Society by his owners as they were moving.  He was a joy to his foster family.  Jerry and Mary Ann met him and fell in love.  Even though he is bigger than they had wanted, his personality won them over.  Sparky is a big sheltie boy but can be so gentle and loving.  He is a quick learner and will sit and loves taking walks.  He is with a family that will treat him special and give him the love and training he needs.   His foster mom looks forward to seeing Sparky again.  She remembers him driving away with Jerry and Mary Ann and not looking back.  Sparky will spend his first birthday with his new family!
