Baby

Wednesday, March 10, 2004

Baby was rescued from the Humane Society by Joyce and Kenny.  After being successfully treated for heartworm and a urinary infection, Joyce, her first foster mom, decided to adopt her.  Baby is a love bug that likes to be on your lap.  Baby will share her new home with three shelties.  She loves to run and play in her big back yard.  Everyone that has met this little girl has fallen in love with her.  She is as sweet as she is cute.  Her one blue eye makes her unforgettable.  All of us involved in rescue can't imagine why anyone would give her up.  She is now loved the way all shelties should be.  Baby will never feel unwanted again.

Candy

Candy was an owner surrender.  This was a difficult decision for her family but they knew it best for her.  Being only 16 months old and very loving, she was not in rescue very long.   Sheltie Rescue took her to visit a family.  She made herself at home and won their hearts in no time.  She was giving kisses and playing with their son.  She will share her new home with a mom, dad and 5 year old boy.  What better place for a playful young girl.  She will have a quiet neighborhood with a large yard to call her own.   She impressed her new family with her obedience training.  She has found their beds to be pretty comfortable when bedtime comes.  Her new family feels blessed to have her part of their family.  She is as sweet as candy!!

I was so sad at first at my foster home.  I kept going from room to room looking for my 5 year old playmate.  I was such a good dog for my foster mom.  She had so much trouble saying goodbye, as I was getting a little more outgoing each day.  I was great on our walks, and even knew to sit at curbs.

Then I met my new family.  They have had 3 Shelties and knew what to expect with me. They know it will take me awhile to adjust.  They are home with me every single day.  They walk me a lot. They know I love to be petted.   Plus, they just told me they have grandchildren that I can play with.  I am so excited.  I know each day at my new house is going to get better and better.  I am home.

My family met rescue at the garage sale last fall.  They wanted a dog so badly.  They waited though, until they could find the perfect one; ME!!!!  They know I need to lose weight and will work on it a lot.  My new mom loves to take walks and misses a companion, as my dad has ankle problems and cannot join her anymore.  I went for a trial visit and didn't want to leave.  But, get this,  both Mom and Dad took 3 days off of work, so we could really bond through the weekend.  Now, isn't that nice?  They said something about going fishing, maybe.  I'm not sure what that means.  I wonder if the cats will come?  I know not to eat their food, just after being there one day.   By the way, Mom and Dad already know that I snore and don't care a bit.  Aren't they the best?

Sadie Jane

Thursday, April 8, 2004

I am Sadie Jane and I have a new mom and dad to call my own.  I traveled to Illinois to my new home in the back seat with my new mom.  I think they fell in love with me when they first saw me.  They bought me a new bed and new bowls.  To make things even better, they fenced the yard in the day after they adopted me.  I guess they never want me to be lost or run away.  I feel spoiled already.  What could be better?  I have had a lot of owners but think I have a home where I can live for the rest of my life.  I will get to celebrate my 4th birthday with my new family.  They have promised my foster mom they will continue to help me stay on my diet.  I think running around my new big yard will help.  I am a happy sheltie girl!
