Tasha

Saturday, October 11, 2003

When Tasha came into rescue she blossomed at her foster home.  She felt completely at home and won the hearts of Kenny and Joyce.   She even liked the other shelties that lived there.  She enjoys time spent in the yard.  When Kenny thought someone else might be interested in meeting Tasha, he decided she should stay.  She was one happy little sheltie girl.  Now she has a wonderful forever home with lots of love and big yard where she can run and play.  She is Kenny's special girl.

Mocha

Monday, October 20, 2003

Mocha is finally loved the way he should be.  He had been in the Humane Society for quite some time.  They kept him longer than usual since he was such a happy guy.  Many families looking to Sheltie Rescue for a family member are only interested in shelties.  Then Mark and Janette met Mocha and they didn't care that he wasn't all sheltie.  They loved him anyway and thought he was handsome.  His foster mom is so happy he has his own family to give him all the love he deserves.  He can enjoy his beautiful new home and walks with little Logan their son.  He is now sleeping in the bedroom with Mark & Janette.  We are so happy for Mocha.

Kessler

Wednesday, October 29, 2003

Kessler was rescued in Kentucky and treated for heartworm.  He was given much love and  wonderful care during his recovery time with Susan.  When he entered rescue in Lafayette he was a happy, healthy well adjusted sheltie boy.   When he visited an approved family, I think they loved him immediately.  He was so gentle with the two little boys.  He will have a wonderful home in the country with a large yard and two little boys to keep him busy.  The Mickels previous sheltie died and they have felt the void of not having a sheltie in the home.  They are thrilled to have Kessler as a family member.  A happy ending for a sheltie suffering from neglect for the first few years of his life.

Buddy

Friday, October 31, 2003

Buddy came into rescue because his owner died and his family could not keep him.  He had been with his family for 11 1/2 years.   He had such sad eyes when he went to his foster home.  With much love from Michele and her family he has blossomed into a happy "little man" as she calls him.  He has learned to enjoy the company of his two sheltie bothers, Claude and Dusty and the many cats at Michele's.  It didn't take him long to find his spot on the bed at night.  In fact he has slept there since the first night in rescue.   Michele became so attached to him she just couldn't stand the thought of him being adopted by another family.  Lucky Buddy is now home for good.  He is being spoiled with the homemade treats his mom makes.  He has become a real lap dog.   He will be loved unconditionally during his senior years.

Nora

Saturday, November 1, 2003

Nora was seized from a home for neglect along with two other dogs.  It was first thought she was 1 1/2 years old but after some time in her foster home and with all her playfulness, her vet guesses her to be about 8 months.  Denise and John found her picture on the internet and were drawn to her adorable face.  After a visit to their home, they decided little Nora would make a wonderful addition to their family.  She will have to learn to respect their bird.  She thought the bird sure look interesting and might be something to play with.  Nora will enjoy many boat rides next summer as she will be living on a lake.   Even though she is not all sheltie she has a new family to call her own.  Sheltie Rescue is happy for little Nora.  With her sweet personality she will win the hearts of everyone she meets.
