Buddy foster number
three was found as a stray, taken into rescue
and now has been adopted. His new forever mom
and dad, Don & Marylin Fisher were very excited
to be taking their new fur kid home. Buddy can
now look forward to a loving and very rewarding
life everyday. Way to go Buddy, we all will miss
you! |

Teddy, foster
number one, is a young guy who just did not
know how to relate to strangers. He was
pretty well thinking he was going to stay
with his foster parents. However, they went
on vacation and Colleen and Jerry watched
him for a week. He knew a good thing when he
saw it. He latched onto them hook, line and
sinker and they fell for him the same
way. He waits at the door for his dad when
he comes home from work. He gets along great
with his 5 brothers and sisters, and loves
to sit on his mom's lap. He is in heaven and
deserves to be there.

After a
three-week separation (our first as a family),
our greatest wish was to give our 12-year-old
son a jubilant homecoming. Instead, Mother
Nature forced Ken to return to the United States
to face the greatest heartbreak of his young
life. Just a few days before his return from
Europe, Ken's loyal companion and best friend
since he was a toddler -- our beloved Shetland
Sheepdog, Fiona -- died unexpectedly.
In our grief, we
realized out "house" wasn't a home without a
sheltie. Thank God our veterinarian guided us to
"Sheltie Rescue of Greater Lafayette".
Comforting, sympathetic words from Peg and Jane
( as well as the "Sheltie Rescue" website ) did
wonders in turning our grief and sorrow... into
hope and excitement. Three weeks after Fiona's
passing, Peg presented us with "Tommy". What a
fantastic little guy! This two-year old is
beautiful, well trained, friendly, eager to
please, and oh.... so easy to love.

It's no
exaggeration to say that Tommy has brought new
life to our home. Just as important: the
individual attention and compassion we received
from "Sheltie Rescue" makes us feel like Peg and
Jane are part of our family, as well. We can't
begin to thank them enough!
So if you ask if
we would recommend "Sheltie Rescue of Greater
Lafayette" to others, our reply is: "Hah! Just
try to keep us quiet!"

Wow, I found the
best family ever. When I was at my foster home,
I wanted to play with the other dogs, actually,
I wanted them to chase me, but they would not do
it. My foster mom chased me and I loved it. Now
I have two children who chase me all over the
place and a mom who walks me every morning and
evening. My favorite thing to do is play tug of
war with anyone in my family. They brought this
to me the first time they ever met me and it is
my favorite toy, because it is from my favorite
family. My mom is working on getting my coat
out, and I let her brush me every day. Since I
have been on a good diet, my coat is shiny. I
am home and I love it. |

My name is Ellen
and I was found as a stray. My coat was so
dirty and matted. I first went to the Humane
Society and then they called Sheltie
Rescue. They took me to a nice lady that
bathed and brushed me. I stayed in my foster
home and then met Diana & Andy
Schroeder plus CJ their sheltie girl. Wow! I
liked it there. I stayed for a weekend to
see if it could be my forever home. They
must have liked me because I now belong to
them. I have a big yard and a sheltie
sister. We are becoming buddies. I will now
get close enough to her to touch. I have
surprised them with how obedient I can be.
Someone in my life must have spent some time
teaching me. I am home now and have someone
to love me forever.
